The Temptations and Four Tops
Sunday, December 11 @ 8:00 pm$39 – $99
Chevalier Theatre welcomes back the legendary singing groups The Temptations and The Four Tops. The Temptations are most notable for success with Motown Records during the 1960s and ’70s. The group, whose hits include “The Way You Do the Things You Do” and “My Girl,” was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. They’re touring to celebrate their 60th anniversary and release of a brand-new album, “Temptations 60,” with nearly all-original songs. Current members are Otis Williams (the last original Temptation), Ron Tyson (a lead vocalist for 39 years), Terry Weeks (a lead vocalist for 25 years), Willie Greene Jr. and Anthony Grant.
The Four Tops were another group that established the Motown Sound heard around the world during the 1960s. Their first Motown hit, “Baby I Need Your Loving,” made them stars. Their No. 1 hit songs include “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)” and “It’s The Same Old Song.” The Four Tops were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. Current members are Abdul “Duke” Fakir, Ronnie McNeir, Lawrence Payton Jr. and Alexander Morris.
Tickets are $39 to $99 through the Chevalier Theatre website/Ticketmaster. Tickets also may be purchased, free of online ordering fees, at the Chevalier Theatre Box Office, which is open on Friday and Saturdays from noon to 6 p.m., and two hours before every Chevalier Theatre show.
