Magoun Park on Pembroke Street is the site of today's Medford Family Network Playgroup in the Park with Miss Andrea Breen. Stop by for story time, songs, and music and movement. The program is geared toward children ages birth to 8; siblings welcome. Register upon arriving at the park. Upcoming playgroup sites and dates are Carr Park (May 23), Cummings Park (May 24), Morrison Park (May 25), Logan Park (May 26) and Victory Park (May 31).

Join Toddler Time at the Medford Public Library and read some excellent books, sing songs, and learn gentle movement activities. Story time is 30 minutes long and geared toward children ages 2-3. After stories and songs, all are invited to join a mini-play group too. Because of the age of most of the participants, the library asks that everyone wear masks during this program.  Questions? Attention Medford seniors: Have you visited the new Charlotte & William Bloomberg Medford Public Library building, which opened in January? If not, sign up for the Medford Council on Aging's free van transportation to take you over. The van will leave the Medford Senior Center at 10:30 a.m. and return 1 p.m., allowing plenty of time to wander the new library with its vast amount of books, resources, and more. The Medford Senior Center holds its Artitude class, with Debbie Corleto leading the instruction of various art mediums and projects. You might work in acrylics, watercolor, graphite, pastels, colored pencil, crayons, and more. To sign up for the class, call the Senior Center at 781-396-6010. There is a limit of 16 people per class in person; there also is an option of virtual participation through Zoom.

The Medford Public Library's Middle School No-Book Book Club meets in Bonsignore Hall at the new Charlotte & William Bloomberg Library building. There are no assigned books for this book club, which is for teens in grades 6 to 8. Read books that YOU choose, then talk about them with other middle schoolers. Light snacks will be provided. TandAmerica: One Family’s Journey Across the U.S.

In June of 2021, a Medford family cycled about 3,300 miles from Astoria, Oregon, on tandem bikes, traversing the U.S. all the way back to their home. Come to the Medford Public Library for an evening of stories about the road, and the highlights and lowlights of this epic family adventure by Fernando Barrios and Sarah O'Grady and their daughters Isabel and Anna.
