Abbott Street String Band at The Porch

The Abbott Street String Band returns to The Porch with a little bit of bluegrass, and a little bit of Dixieland. This group of local old-time players formed at an Abbott Street residence during the pandemic. They feature acoustic instruments such as banjos, fiddles and guitars, and groove on the melodies of traditional fiddle tunes, dances and reels. Free admission for the music; table reservations recommended if you plan to have dinner.

The Tufts University Department of Music welcomes vocalist Adrian Sicam and friends and colleagues from Berklee College of Music for an uplifting evening that answers the call of love in the wake of tumultuous and transformative times. The program will include the musical talents of Harold Charon, Kevin Scollins, Youngchae Jeong, Ivanna Cuesta, Lydia Harrell, Andrea Capozzoli, plus a special guest. The Ford Tavern begins a busy month of Irish music offerings, welcoming back Irish Whispa the Band. Brien Connolly heads the group on guitar and lead vocals, backed by Kevin Shea, Rob Anderson and Michael Moriarty. Their style is influenced by the Dubliners, Wolfe Tones, Pogues, Irish Rovers, Clancy Brothers, Christy Moore, and many others.
