The World Music Concert Series, postponed due to poor weather on September 9, concludes its rescheduled two-day event today. The concert series is organized by Tareq Rantisi, a Grammy nominated world percussionist, composer and educator, and has a spatial and social justice focus, bringing diverse world-class artists to underutilized public spaces.

Today’s lineup features Zafaran at 1 p.m., incorporating musical traditions from around the Mediterranean and weaving together such diverse threads as Southern Italian chants, Sephardic love songs, Romani laments, and Turkish and Greek folk tunes, and the Koliba Afro-Pop Ensemble at 2 p.m., bringing together musicians from two continents to blend traditional and modern styles including West African Rhythms, Hi Life, Reggae, Ska, Zouk and more.
