The World Music Concert Series, postponed due to poor weather on September 9, returns as a two-day event today and Sunday, October 1. The concert series is organized by Tareq Rantisi, a Grammy nominated world percussionist, composer and educator, and has a spatial and social justice focus, bringing diverse world-class artists to underutilized public spaces.

Today’s lineup features the Greek music of Asia Minor and the Islands at 1 p.m., highlighting the richly varied folk music traditions of the Greek-speaking world, and the Izo Trio and Friends at 2 p.m. Izo is known for their expansive storytelling through dynamic and improvised music that blends Jazz, Classical, and Middle Eastern influences.
