Words and Music: Color Him Father

Friday, February 5, 2021 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Free

West Medford Community Center’s Word and Music program celebrates Black History Month by presenting “Color Him Father,” a neighborhood conversation about the generational impact of “present” fathers in the lives of West Medford men of color. Expect some wonderful sharing and a few surprises from a panel of well known and respected native sons as they talk about the great men they call Dad. The musical segment will feature professor George W. Russell Jr., an acclaimed jazz pianist, professor at Berklee College of Music, and chair of the Berklee Harmony and Jazz Composition Department.

View the event by going to the West Medford Community Center’s Facebook page, where it will be streamed live. Medford residents with cable TV can also watch the program live (Ch. 3 on Comcast and Ch. 47 on Verizon).

West Medford Community Center launched Words and Music in 2017. Usually presented on the first Friday of every month, the event starts off with a discussion on a valuable aspect of the community, followed by a performance by a local musician or musicians. For more information on this or other WMCC programs, visit the center’s website.
