Kalliope Reed Quintet MyRWA Benefit Concert

Saturday, June 4, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Closing its spring season the day before World Environment Day, the Kalliope Reed Quintet will perform a benefit concert for the Mystic River Watershed Association. Performed in the recently opened Charlotte & William Bloomberg Medford Public Library building run on 100% renewable energy (the first library of its kind in the state), Kalliope will perform a program of climate-related works by Jenni Brandon, Nubia Melina Jaime Donjuan, Charly Daniels, composer Eliane Aberdam, and an arrangement of Gershwin’s “American in Paris.”

Members of Kalliope, New England’s first professional reed quintet, are Natalie Zemba, bassoon; Anna Bradford, oboe; Céline Ferro, clarinet; Bennett Parsons, saxophone; and Jon Russell, bass clarinet, who joined the ensemble this month, replacing founding member Wolcott Humphrey.

Admission is free; all donations will go to Mystic River Watershed Association. Made possible with support from the Medford Arts Council.
