The Medford Recreation Department presents a nine-week class, Canta y Baila Conmigo, for children ages birth to 5. Taught by Mystic Valley Music Together, the classes create a playful, interactive atmosphere where language-learning is naturally and organically integrated into the musical experience. CyBC appeals to a wide variety of families, from native and heritage Spanish speakers to brand new Spanish-learners. It is different from other early childhood language offerings in that, rather than “teaching Spanish vocabulary through songs,” CyBC teaches the “Spanish language through music.” Because of the quality of the music experience, families come for the language and stay for the music. Classes will be held from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. on Wednesdays from January 10 through March 13 (no class on February 21). Cost is $180. Register through the Medford Recreation website.
