Legendary Chicago blues guitarist and singer Buddy Guy returns to Chevalier Theatre for a stop on his Damn Right Farewell Tour (rescheduled from its original date of October 4, 2023). Guy, 87, is a pioneer of Chicago’s fabled West Side sound, and a living link to the city’s halcyon days of electric blues. He has influenced generations of guitarists including Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck, Gary Clark Jr. and John Mayer. A Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Guy has received eight Grammy Awards, a 2015 Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award, 38 Blues Music Awards (most of any artist), the Billboard Magazine Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement, a Kennedy Center Honor, and the Presidential National Medal of Arts. Opening will be Tom Hambridge, who has collaborated with Guy on several of his albums, including the Grammy-winning “Living Proof” and “Born to Play Guitar,” as well as numerous live performances.
