Class will begin with a short introduction to the artwork of Katsushika Hokusai, the renowned Japanese artist best known for The Great Wave. Students will create vibrant underwater backgrounds using two fun printmaking techniques: relief printing and bubble printing.

While their prints dry, young artists will design sea creatures, plants, and other ocean-inspired elements using a variety of drawing materials. Students will then collage their creations onto their backgrounds to complete a colorful underwater scene filled with texture, movement, and imagination.
