The garage punk band M.O.T.O. (Masters of the Obvious) headlines tonight's live music at Deep Cuts. Formed in New Orleans in 1981 but now operating out of New Hampshire, the band has always functioned primarily as a platform for founder Paul Caporino's songwriting, a repertoire that includes hundreds of songs in a variety of genres such as pop, punk rock, metal, soul, noise music, garage rock, and new wave. Leisure Hour from Indiana gets top billing on tonight's live music card at Deep Cuts. Taking inspiration from bands such as The Front Bottoms, The 1975, and Weezer, Leisure Hour's unique mix of roaring electric guitars, bright synthesizers, and cathartic vocal performances make the group one of the most exciting bands on the emo rock scene. Also performing: Dear Maryanne, Nicoteens, and Perennial.  Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 show day through Dice.
