Live Figure Drawing Session

Arts Collaborative Medford presents its bi-weekly Live Figure Drawing Session, held every other Tuesday evening at the community arts center. These are in-person, non-instructor led sessions with a nude or lightly clothed model striking a mixture of short and long poses — starting at one minute and working up to a 15- or 20-minute pose. A studio monitor will be present to assist the model and participants. Attendees should bring their own materials. ACM will have some spare pencils, pads, and surfaces on hand. Cost is $15. Register through the ACM website or drop in.

Make + Mingle at ACM

Juneteenth Exhibition and Community Panel

In celebration of Juneteenth and in collaboration with the Resilient Sisterhood Project and Neighborhood Birth Center, Arts Collaborative Medford is hosting the groundbreaking exhibition, "Call and Response: A Narrative of Reverence to Our Foremothers in Gynecology." This two-week educational exhibition highlights the stories of Anarcha, Betsey, and Lucy — three young enslaved ancestors whose bodies were used for medical experiments during the 1840s by Dr. James Marion Sims in Montgomery, Alabama. This evening's program will feature a panel discussion with the artist Jules Arthur. "Call and Response" will be on public view at ACM Medford from June 19 to 30. […]

Junk Journal Workshop

Arts Collaborative Medford presents a Junk Journal Workshop led by Found & Flowered. This workshop offers a fun, beginner-friendly introduction to bookbinding and junk journaling, perfect for anyone who loves playing with paper. Participants will create a one-of-a-kind junk journal using a simple 3-hole pamphlet stitch. You'll use a mix of materials including cardstock, vintage papers, envelopes, magazines, washi tape, stickers, and more. All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with a completed journal ready to use. Cost is $40. Register through the ACM website.

Arts Collaborative Medford invites you to a Poetry Salon hosted by Gary Roberts, a poet and co-founder of ACM, as part of the collaborative's literary arts initiative. Learn about modern poetry with short poems from some of the most celebrated writers of the 20th century. Emphasis will be given to poets who bore witness to social upheaval and shaped modern literature with their responses to historical events.
