Words and Music: West Medford Elders Photo Project

Friday, February 7, 2020 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Free

West Medford Community Center’s “Words and Music” series presents a Black History Month program featuring Part II of the West Medford Elders Photo Project. In the “Words” segment of the evening, enjoy conversation, reflection and celebration in honor of another group of great West Medford elders. Meet the center’s new exhibit photographer and take stock of the proud history of this community  through the unveiling of a select group of new photos being added to the current collection of West Medford luminaries. The “Music” portion of the program will feature the return of Donna McElroy, a virtuoso singer and tenured Berklee professor and department chair, and also S-Factor, the male a cappella group at Tufts University that specializes in music of the African Diaspora.

The West Medford Community Center launched Words and Music in 2017. Usually presented on the first Friday of every month (except holiday weeks), the event starts off with a discussion on a valuable aspect of the community, followed by a performance by a local musician or musicians. For more information on this and other events, visit the WMCC website or call the center at 781-483-3042.
