Words and Music: The Arts – Alive and Well in Medford

Friday, April 1, 2022 @ 7:00 pm

Free

The West Medford Community Center resumes its First Friday Words and Music series with the program “The Arts: Alive and Well in Medford.” The “Words” portion of the evening will include a spirited conversation about the vibrant and growing arts scene in the city, with principals from CACHE, Arts Medford, West Medford Open Studios, and Arts Collaborative Medford. The panel will take a look at current events, new initiatives and future developments that will continue to expand the dynamic arts destination that Medford is rapidly becoming.

In the “Music” portion of the evening, with April being National Poetry Month, Medford poet laureate Terry E. Carter will be joined by pianist Jonathan Fagan and the Ally Project, also featuring John Dalton on drums and Greg Toro on bass for a great set of jazz and spoken word, at the intersection of lyricism, melody, social justice and community.

Seating is very limited, and advance registration is required through Eventbrite. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and masking also are required. The program will be carried live by Medford Community Media (Ch. 3 Comcast and Ch. 47 Verizon) and streamed live on the WMCC Facebook page and on the Medford Community Media website.
