“The Kids Are Alright” is the theme for this month’s Words and Music program at the West Medford Community Center, hosted by Terry E. Carter. The “Words” segment will feature members of the Medford Public Schools’ Center for Citizenship and Social Responsibility (CCSR). Students in this program engage in projects they create for the betterment of Medford in many areas, with a particular focus on equity, diversity, inclusion, social justice, and community building. The “Music” portion will bring noted Medford vocalist Stacy Clayton to the microphone, accompanied by friend and musical collaborator Jenny Bonham-Carter.

Seating is limited for in-person viewing, and masks are strongly urged for all attendees. The event also will be shown live on the WMCC Facebook  page and on the Medford Community Media public access station (Channel 3 on Comcast and Channel 47 on Verizon).

The West Medford Community Center launched Words and Music in 2017. Usually presented on the first Friday of every month, the event starts off with a discussion on a valuable aspect of the community, followed by a performance by a local musician or musicians.
