Celebrating the renowned Egyptian singer Umm Kulthum, Tufts Takht will present some of her most famous songs in a tribute to Egypt’s golden era of culture. Umm Kulthum was an internationally renowned Egyptian singer, songwriter, and film actress active from the 1920s to the 1970s. She was given the honorific title Kawkab Al-Sharq, or “Star of the East.”
