Tufts Falls Festival of Plays: God of Carnage

Friday, November 6, 2020 @ 7:00 am

Free

The Tufts University Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies continues its Fall Festival of Plays, three staged readings directed by Maurice Emmanuel Parent and presented in a streaming format. The works explore systemic racism, class divisions, and politics, which the department hopes will provide a jumping-off point for ongoing conversations about the role of theatre in community transformation.

Opening today is “God of Carnage,” a play by Yasmina Reza, which may be viewed through November 12. First published in 2008, it is about two sets of parents, one of whose child has hurt the other at a public park. They agree to meet to discuss the matter in a civilized manner.

The third and final festival play will be “Smart People,” from November 13-19.

Admission is free; access the performances here: https://tuftsdramadance.anywhereseat.com/channel.php
