The Tufts University Early Music Ensemble presents a program of a remarkable collection of music for “the kynge h. viii” — a vivid reflection of the early years of his reign in the 16th century. Courtly love longs, music for entertainments, rounds, and instrumental consorts are all found in this monument of secular music for voices, violas da gamba, recorders, lute, harp, krummhorns, sackbut, cornetto, and harpsichord. Jane Hershey directs the ensemble.
