Medford will be raising a tipi this summer at Playstead Park as part of a cultural exchange with the Lakota youth from Pine Ridge, South Dakota, visiting Medford through the Lakota YouthStay Program. Kids over age 10 and adults can help paint in the color on Native designs. Experience the beat of Native drumming and dancing by Winds of Change. Also on hand will be MARV, the art bus, where kids under 10 and adults can work on a dream catcher or mini tipi art project.

Food/drinks will be available for sale.

Lakota YouthStay connects 10- to 15-year-olds from the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota with hosts in Medford for a week of exploration, building friendships and engagement through shared activities of interest.
