Five Artists. One Material. A Conversation about Clay & Transformation
A Drawn Together Circle
Rev. Wendy Miller Olapade, facilitating

The Big Idea: From The Same Earth reminds us that common ground does not require sameness. Clay becomes the meeting place where earth, hand, patience, and fire reveal the beauty of distinct voices shaped from a shared source.

Description:
There is a quiet kind of power in clay. It does not rush. It receives the hand. It bears pressure. It waits for fire. And then somehow, it becomes. In From the Same Earth, five local ceramicists begin with a shared material, yet what emerges is beautifully distinct.

Through varied forms, surfaces, vessels, and sculptural gestures, the exhibition reveals the remarkable range of possibility within a single medium. Each artist listens to clay differently, shaping work that carries its own texture, presence, and voice. Together, the pieces remind us that common ground does not require sameness.

For this Drawn Together Circle, we will slow down with the work and consider what clay can teach us about process, patience, transformation, and the many ways different voices can rise from the same earth. Join us for a welcoming, reflective conversation with the art, the artists, and one another. No art background is needed. Bring your curiosity, your attention, and your willingness to listen for the quiet language of fire.
