The Medford Family Network is hosting a bilingual storytelling event centered on “The Mother Mount Legend,” a story deeply rooted in the oral tradition of the Colombian Amazon. Esther Gomez and Karina Liendo will tell the story of Madre Monte, who is commonly represented as a beautiful and strong woman, half woman and half mountain, dressed in leaves and green moss, whose face cannot be seen. She is the protector of nature. Geared toward children age 5 and older, the program will also include arts and crafts, games, and songs. Registration is required using the online event form.
