The Porch Southern Fare & Juke Joint at River’s Edge presents the first in a series of Star Raids music events with The MoonRaiders and a rotating lineup of guest vocalists, focusing on Western swing and honky-tonk. Led by guitarist Chris Hersch, the MoonRaiders are a Western swing band that combines elements of jazz, rock n’ roll, country, and truck driving music. Tonight’s guest artist is Boston mandolin player and vocalist Jimmy Ryan, who helped forge the alt-country genre as a charter member of the Blood Oranges in the 1980s.
