Standing Tall: Emmanuel Feldman Cello Concerto and Ukraine Fundraiser

Thursday, March 31, 2022 @ 8:00 pm

Free

American cellist, composer and inventor Emmanuel Feldman premieres his new cello concerto, “Standing Tall,” with the Tufts University Symphony Orchestra conducted by John Page. Feldman will perform this concert using his his patented TekStand, which allows him to play his cello while standing. Hailed by John Williams as “an outstanding cellist and truly dedicated artist,” Feldman has performed in the U.S. and internationally as a soloist, and orchestral and chamber musician. “Standing Tall” is an autobiographical odyssey musically portraying the composer’s life as a musician.  The concert will begin with a lecture demonstration with the composer discussing his compositional process and the development of two of his recent inventions, the TekPin and the TekStand. A question-and-answer session will follow immediately after the concert.

This concert also is a fundraising event for Ukraine through donations to Doctors Without Borders. Contribute through the event donation web page.

Free; no tickets required. Due to COVID regulations, live audience attendees at Tufts Music events must present a Tufts ID or a Covid Vaccination Card showing that they have been vaccinated and boosted. Others may watch the even online through Tufts Music Live Streaming.
