Poems That Take Us Places

Saturday, April 29, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

The Medford Public Library presents “Poems that Take Us Places,” a reading by three poets with deep ties to Medford: Julia Lisella, Judith Sanders and Theodora Stratis.  In celebration of National Poetry Month, these poets read from work that transports us to locales as diverse as Cape Cod and Rome, New York City and Athens, moving through memory as well as geography. Lisella’s latest book is “Our Lively Kingdom” (Bordighera Press). She lives in Medford and teaches at Regis College. Sanders’ collection “In Deep” was published by Kelsay Books. Her writing appears in numerous journals and she won a major humor poetry prize. Stratis lives in Medford and was recently a featured poet at Voices of Diversity-Voices of America in Brockton. A reception with refreshments will follow the program. Please RSVP through the library’s online calendar.
