Cyanotype is a photographic printmaking process known for producing images in shades of blue. In this Mystic Makerspace workshop, you’ll create contact prints using plant life and found objects, arranged on sensitized paper. Experiment with hand-drawn negatives using film markers, cut-outs and scratch art.

Printing plates will be exposed in sunlight so wear comfortable outdoor shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a little wet or messy! Feel free to bring along small opaque and semi-opaque objects of your own to use for printing. The class will begin with a discussion on the fundamentals of mixing and prepping emulsions, but there will be no chemical mixing in class.
