The West Medford Community Center, in collaboration with North Shore Juneteenth Association, Inc., presents its first Juneteenth Celebration — a timely cultural celebration of African American emancipation and freedom. This virtual event will feature history, music, poetry, dance and stories designed to educate, enlighten and entertain the entire city of Medford and beyond.

Juneteenth a contraction of June 19th, is the day in 1865 when the last of enslaved African Americans were freed, more than two years after the Emancipation proclamation. The day celebrates Black excellence, leadership, community and culture!

The event will be livestreamed on Facebook, YouTube and Medford Community Media (Comcast Ch. 3 and Verizon Ch. 47).
