The City of Medford’s Condon Shell Summer Concert series continues with the Boston Music Award winners The Blue Ribbons. The band was formed by singer/songwriter/keyboardist James Rohr. They have been building a base of devoted fans with their original and soulful music. Described as “Ray Charles and Tom Waits on a pirate ship with Sun Ra and Captain Beefheart,” they combine “upbeat disillusionment and celebratory fatalism with musicianship,” wrote Charan Devereux in The Boston Globe.

Bring a chair or blanket and a picnic, or stop by the Medford Farmers Market to grab some food. Remaining concerts in the Thursday evening series will feature the Susan Cattaneo Band on July 31, the Baker Thomas Band on August 14, and Kier Byrnes and Kettle Burners on August 28.
