If you missed the legendary Chicago blues guitarist and singer Buddy Guy’s stop at Chevalier Theatre last May on his Damn Right Farewell Tour, you’re in luck: Guy is returning to Medford on his Damn Right Encore Tour. Guy, 88, is a pioneer of Chicago’s fabled West Side sound, and a living link to the city’s halcyon days of electric blues. He has influenced generations of guitarists including Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck, Gary Clark Jr. and John Mayer. A Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Guy has received eight Grammy Awards, a 2015 Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award, 38 Blues Music Awards (most of any artist), the Billboard Magazine Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement, a Kennedy Center Honor, and the Presidential National Medal of Arts. Opening will be Eric Gales, the blues rock guitarist also known as Raw Dawg.
