Join Terry E. Carter, the inaugural poet laureate for the City of Medford, for a celebration of his newly released sixth book, “Brown Skin and the Brilliant Sun: A Poet’s Opus.” He’ll read from the new work, have books for sale and signing, and there will be music and light refreshments too. A West Medford native, Carter is a classically trained poet whose literary influences range from Shakespeare to the Harlem Renaissance. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Fisk University and completed a graduate fellowship in mass communications at Boston University.
