Author Talk: Sasha Issenberg – The Engagement
Thursday, June 22 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pmFree
The Medford Public Library presents a virtual talk with author Sasha Issenberg about his book “The Engagement: America’s Quarter-Century Struggle Over Same-Sex Marriage.” On June 26, 2015, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that state bans on gay marriage were unconstitutional, making same-sex unions legal across the United States. But the road to that momentous decision was much longer than many know. In his book, Issenberg traces same-sex marriage’s unexpected path from the unimaginable to the inevitable. A former Washington bureau reporter for The Boston Globe, Issenberg is the Washington correspondent for Monocle, and has also written for New York magazine, The New York Times Magazine, and George. He teaches in the political science department at UCLA. Register through the library’s online calendar to receive the Zoom link.
