The Porch Southern Fare & Juke Joint at River’s Edge and the Nephrok! Allstars kick off a month-long soul residency with a performance by Athene Wilson. A native of Jamaica, Wilson performs jazz, gospel and R&B in venues around Boston such as the House of Blues and Scullers Jazz Club. She has accompanied local artists Larry Watson, Andre Ward, Walter Beasley, and several other bands. In addition to her work regionally, Athene has performed in Germany, France, Japan and the Caribbean.
