Chevalier Theatre welcomes Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Aimee Mann for her first Medford concert performance. Mann is touring in support of her most recent album, last fall’s “Queens of The Summer Hotel.” Mann started developing the new music in 2018 when she agreed to write songs for a stage adaptation of “Girl, Interrupted,” Susannah Kaysen’s memoir about her psychiatric hospitalization in the late 1960s. The album is not unlike Mann’s 2017 Grammy-winning album “Mental Illness,” as both explore themes of self-harm, depression and suicide. Earlier in her career, Mann made a name for herself with the band ‘Til Tuesday (and big hit “Voices Carry”) before successfully going solo. Jonathan Coulton will open the show.

Tickets are $49 to $69 through the Chevalier Theatre website/Ticketmaster. Tickets also may be purchased, free of online ordering fees, at the Chevalier Theatre Box Office, which is open on Fridays and Saturdays from noon to 6 p.m., as well as two hours before every Chevalier Theatre show.
