Advanced Crochet Club for Teens

The Medford Public Library introduces an Advanced Crochet Club for teens in middle school and high school. This club is open to teens who already know the basics of crocheting: slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, etc. If you don't recognize or know how to do those stitches, try the library's Beginners Teen Crochet Club that meets on the second Thursday of the month. Registration is required for this meeting through the library's new online calendar.

Swiftie Crafternoon for Kids

Did you know vinyl records are back in vogue? Medford Brewing Company does, which is why it has started Wednesday Wax, a vinyl listening party where YOU play the tunes. Bring your records, sign up to play a few tracks, then pass the deck to the next person. Sign up as many times as you want. Spins start at 5 p.m. and go until 9:30.

Arts Collaborative Medford is hosting a two-day Welt Felting Workshop led by Chelsea Brown of Kēkii Crafts. Over two 2.5-hour classes tonight and Thursday night, January 30, students will learn how to wet felt their very own wearable mittens. Techniques include wet felting over a resist, as well as a working knowledge of common wool fiber types, and wet felting with effects fibers such as silk, viscose and bamboo.
