Exhibition Opening: Shapes of Nature by Estrid Eklof

The Medford Public Library opens its art exhibition for November-December, "Shapes From Nature: Paintings Sensing Nature," featuring the work of Medford resident Estrid Eklof. Eklof's paintings are based on a many layered water color foundation, often with graphite and Conté stick marks added. "Twig Series" was inspired by the restless patterns of pine needles and broken twigs found in snow. "Shadow Series" was inspired by the quiet patterns made on sand from scrub pine trees. Exhibition Opening: George Huiyi Wang Chinese Painting

The Medford Public Library opens a two-month exhibition of Chinese painting by George Huiyi Wang, a Medford resident and member of the Medford Senior Center. On display will be Wang's Chinese brush paintings showcasing Eastern art and culture. Wang immigrated from China to the U.S. in 1987 and is a member of the Chinese American Fine Arts Society. The exhibition will be on view in the library's second-floor gallery during regular library hours through Thursday, February 29.

And by popular demand, this evening Gonson will present another talk about her experience shooting bands and her history with touring and photography. Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
