Beginner English Class
The Medford Family Network is offering a beginner English class for Medford parents/caregivers with at least one child age birth to 8. This is a Level 1 class for beginner students with little knowledge of the English language. Learn the English alphabet, numbers, pronouns, present continuous, simple present tense, basic adjectives, prepositions, and everyday vocabulary. The Medford Public Library hosts the monthly meeting of its Writers’ Workshop. The group, which usually meets on the last Wednesday of the month, is always looking for new members so join the group to meet fellow writers and get feedback on your work. Dance away your cares at the Medford Public Library as Dance Caliente presents a fun and lively lesson on the waltz. Dancers of all levels and ages are invited to attend. Founded in 1998 by Eileen Herman-Haase and Raul Nieves, Dance Caliente brings a contagious enthusiasm to their instruction. Register through the library's online calendar. The Medford Council on Aging welcomes National Honor Society students from Arlington Catholic High School to lead "Coming of Spring," a craft event that will include painting flower pots and seed planting. The Medford Council on Aging presents its weekly art class for seniors led by Tom Wojciechowski, a visual artist who works in a variety of media including installation, painting, photography and books. You will build skills and techniques each week and try out various processes that help you experiment and find joy in art and image making. The Medford Public Library presents a class on reverse painting for teens in middle school and high school. Learn about the centuries-old art of reverse glass painting and create your own reverse painting. Choose one of three images, and paint it using acrylic paint on clear acetate. The Medford Recreation Department is offering a five-class Saturday morning painting program, Little Painters, for children ages 2 to 5. Each week, kids can get creative with different painting projects including ceramics, suncatchers, birdhouses, and more. The program runs from 9 to 9:45 a.m. to noon on Saturdays from April 27 through June 1 (no session on May 25, Memorial Day weekend). The Medford Public Library is offering the training you need to "check out" the library's Maker Space just like a study room. With this session on 3D printing, you can earn a "badge" and gain more exclusive access to the Maker Space and its contents. The Medford Recreation Department presents a nine-week Music Together class for children ages 1 month to 5 years. Taught by Mystic Valley Music Together, the classes are playful, rich and engaging and help children discover their inner music-maker by playing with the grownups they love.
