Film screening: De-feet Domestic Violence

The South Asian Workers Center, the Rose Foundation, GAIA Connections, LLC, and the First Baptist Church of Medford present the program “Speaking Boldly: Domestic Violence in International Perspective. The event will include the screening of “De-Feet Domestic Violence.” This 45-minute documentary follows two young Kenyan men as they walk across Kenya to raise money for the domestic violence education organization the Rose Foundation. The film features interviews with domestic violence survivors and advocates in Kenya.

There will also be an international panel on domestic violence advocacy featuring Esther Kisaghu, executive director of the Kenya-based Rose Foundation; Sukanya Ray, Associate Professor at Suffolk University; and Barbara Anderson of the Arlington-based All Hands In, anti-human trafficking organization.

Refreshments of South Asian snacks and chai will be catered by a women’s group from the South Asian Workers Center.
