The City of Medford continues its free summer concert series at the Condon Band Shell with Jen Kearney, whose refreshing new spin on funk music shows flashes of funk’s horn-drenched heyday in the ’70s. Her sound is an amalgamation of musical styles including soul, R&B, funk, rock and Latin. Kearney has released six studio albums and shared the stage with the likes of Maceo Parker, Los Lobos, Daryl Hall, Mavis Staples, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, The Derek Trucks Band and more.

Bring a blanket or a chair and come enjoy some great live music along the banks of the Mystic River! Don’t forget to drop by the Medford Farmers Market before the show. Also, this week Winter Hill Brewing Company will have a beer garden at the market/concert from 5 to 8 p.m.

The final concert in the series will feature The Woo Factor on September 2.
