Tufts Art Datathon: Finding Bias in Museum Collections

Saturday, February 12, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Free

Data crunching has been helping the feminist cause for decades. This weekend, Tufts Universities Art Galleries is hosting an Art Datathon to explore new ways data science can inform racial and cultural equity work in the arts through two virtual events with the field’s foremost trailblazers. Today, a panel will discuss the topic “Finding Bias in Museum Collections.” Panelists will be Kelli Morgan, Professor of the Practice, History of Art and Architecture and Director of Curatorial Studies, at Tufts; Diana Greenwald, Assistant Curator of the Collection at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum; and Chad Topaz, Professor of Mathematics at Williams College.
