The Medford Public Library continues its winter series of free movie screenings with “The Wiz” in Bonsignore Hall. The film is an adaptation of “The Wizard of Oz” that tries to capture the essence of the African American experience. It follows the adventures of Dorothy, a shy, 24-year-old Harlem schoolteacher who finds herself magically transported to the urban fantasy Land of Oz, which resembles a dream version of New York City.
