The Tufts Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies presents the first of six performances of “The Furies,” the final play of Aeschylus’s “Oresteia.” The first ever courtroom drama, this text explores themes of vengeance and justice, (dis)empowerment, and the function of legal systems within a larger democracy. Culminating in a trial presided over by the goddess Athena, the producers are excited to seek contemporary wisdom in this foundational theatre text.
