SMFA at Tufts MFA Thesis Exhibition: Through Shifting Lenses
Tuesday, May 6 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
FreeTufts University Art Galleries presents “Through Shifting Lenses,” an exhibition of works by 14 graduating Masters of Fine Arts students from the School of The Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) at Tufts. “Through Shifting Lenses” invites audiences to traverse a kaleidoscopic series of shifting perspectives on space, time, identity and imagination. Bringing together works that span scale, mediums and multitudes, these artists compose a picture of thoughtful invention and unbridled enthusiasm for the making of new worlds in the face of uncertainty. They confront an anxious present with work that snaps with tension between oscillating frameworks: microscopic and vast, universal and individual, reflective and speculative. The exhibition will be on view through Sunday, May 18. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. A reception with the artists will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 16.
