The Mystic Project presents the first screening of works from its JustFlix program, in which youth participants from the Medford Housing Authority learn the art of modern storytelling by creating digital videos on cell phones, telling their stories of social justice, community justice, and beyond. The films, to be shown in Bonsignore Hall, reflect on the interplay between the participant’s experiences, their ideas of justice, and the strengths of their community. Viewer discretion is advised. The program also will feature guest speaker Terry E. Carter, the City of Medford’s poet laureate emeritus.

The highest priority of the nonprofit Mystic Project is to promote equitable initiatives that expand opportunities for membership and participation for all members in the community to be leaders and change makers. Recognizing, reinforcing, and celebrating the healthy, thriving, and diverse community where we live is its goal. In addition to JustFlix, The Mystic Project runs Artrepreneurs, a program in which Medford Housing Authority youth create artwork from recycled materials and then market their wares, and the Moments in Medford Calendar project.
