Juneteenth: A Celebration of Joy, Empowerment, and Healing

Friday, June 18, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

The Royall House & Slave Quarters is partnering with the Department of Radiology Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee at Massachusetts General Hospital on the program “Juneteenth: A Celebration of Joy, Empowerment, and Healing.” The celebration will feature a keynote address by public health researcher and civil rights activist Dr. Robert Fullilove of the Columbia School of Public Health, and a celebration of the arts.

The program includes a virtual tour of the Royall House & Slave Quarters at 3 p.m., followed by a conversation with executive director Kyera Singleton. This portion of the program is a collaboration with the MGH Youth Scholars Program, which promotes educational attainment for grade 9-12 students in Boston, Chelsea, and Revere, working to increase student interest in science and healthcare, spark college aspirations, and support students’ academic success.

The program is free and open to all. Register on the MGH Juneteenth web page: https://www.massgeneral.org/equity-and-inclusion/juneteenth
