The McGlynn Middle School Drama Club is presenting its first-ever musical, “Curtains,” with performances in the school’s auditorium on Friday and Saturday, May 4-5, at 7 p.m.

Written by the legendary songwriting team of John Kander and Fred Ebb (“Cabaret,” “Chicago”), Curtains takes place at the Colonial Theatre in Boston in 1959, where a new musical is trying out for Broadway. Its already disastrous opening night turns deadly when one of the stars of the show is murdered onstage just as the final curtain falls. As luck would have it, the Boston police investigator assigned to the case, Lieutenant Cioffi, is not just a great detective, but also a musical theater fanatic – and Cioffi is determined to both solve the murder and fix the show!
