Postponed: Brooks Estate Picnic
Saturday, July 13 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
FreeDue to a stormy weather forecast, the Medford-Brooks Estate Land Trust (M-BELT) has rescheduled its annual summer picnic on the grounds of the historic property to next Saturday, July 20. M-BELT’s biggest event of the year will include tours of the Shepherd Brooks Manor, food, music, crafts, raffles, and much more. The picnic also will be an opportunity to thank longtime M-BELT president Tom Lincoln, who recently retired, and to meet new M-BELT’s president Carly Nesson, a South Medford resident with significant nonprofit management experience. Free and open to all ages.
The Brooks Estate is a city-owned environmental and historical treasure in West Medford that offers Brooks Pond and 50 acres of open space for birds, wildlife and nature lovers. As the manager, nonprofit M-BELT has spearheaded the protection and restoration of the property, which includes the 1880 Manor and Carriage House. These Victorian gems are under renovation as community assets.
