The Medford Public Library presents author Alison O’Leary for a presentation on all of the things to consider when planning a hiking trip, whether venturing out locally or planning an extended trip into the mountains. She’ll discuss safety, gear, footwear, whether dogs can go, how much water to bring, and more in preparation for summer adventures. O’Leary is the co-author of “AMC’s Best Day Hikes near Boston” and “Inns and Adventures: A History and Explorer’s Guide to Vermont, New Hampshire, and the Berkshires.” Register through the library’s online calendar.
