MARV (the Medford Arts Resource Vehicle) continues its local artist showcase series Arts After Dark, tonight featuring classical guitarist Devin Ulibarri and watercolorist Chie Yasuda  collaborating on a new project especially designed for Arts After Dark: “Space Renaissance.”

Light and sound share similar properties such as traveling in waves, and both light and sound express “color” based on the frequency of these waves. Chie and Devin will blend the colors and sounds explored by musicians in the 16th and 17th centuries with more modern sights and sounds. Chie will be improvising colorful art based on the beauty and complexity of space, stars, and galaxies while Devin performs both new music as well as classic Renaissance pieces. Devin will also premiere his new work “Kaleidoscope,” which is based on the imaginative voice-leading and harmonies of the Renaissance. Join them for a thoughtful, stimulating, and beautiful event.
