Chevalier Theatre presents A Night with Bassem Youssef, an Arabic-only standup show that is a unique and new experience showcasing 90 minutes of groundbreaking Arabic comedy. Standup comedy is a relatively new art form for the Arabic culture. The show challenges the audience with subversive narratives that use very “strong” language that is not usually heard in an Arabic live show. That is why there is a clear warning for Arabic audiences to attend “at their own risk.”

Dubbed the Jon Stewart of the Arab world, cardiac surgeon Bassem Youssef was the host of popular TV show “Al Bernameg” – the first political satire show in the Middle East. In this unique performance of Arabic comedy, he takes the audience on a very personal journey of his life before fame, touching on hilarious nuances that connect different generations and cultures.
