Art Class for Seniors
The Medford Council on Aging presents its weekly art class for seniors led by Tom Wojciechowski, a visual artist who works in a variety of media including installation, painting, photography and books. Build skills and techniques each week and try out various processes that help you experiment and find joy in art and image making. Call the Senior Center at 781-396-6010 to reserve your seat or to get information on how to join the class via Zoom.

The Medford Public Library presents Art Smart, a program designed for school-aged children ages 5 and up. Come learn a new way to craft, paint, build and design as the class explores the world of arts and crafts with a cool new project. This is a drop-in program — no registration needed.

The Medford Public Library presents another edition of "Reading with Ryan" for emerging readers. Ryan loves when people read to him. If you are learning to read and want to build your confidence, come read to Ryan. Pick your favorite book and schedule a 15-minute reading spot to hang out with the coolest dog who just NEEDS to hear you read. Registration is required through the library's online calendar.

The Medford Middle Schools Drama Club presents the first of four performances of "Into the Woods Jr.," a new take on Stephen Sondheim’s and James Lapine’s musical fairytale about wishes and the choices we make. The musical features all of your favorite characters — Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and the Witch — in a lyrically rich retelling of classic Brothers Grimm fables. The City of Medford and its Medford Pride Planning Committee invite you to their annual Pride Flag Raising and Festival on the front lawn of City Hall. This year's theme is A Celebration of the Threads that Unite the LGBTQ+ Community and a Call for Unity and Action. The event will feature music, a pet parade, vendors and more.

Join the Council on Aging for Conversational English with Janice Cole, a friendly and relaxed environment where you can practice speaking English, engage in lively discussions, and build your confidence. The Medford Council on Aging begins a three-week series of Drum Circle sessions at the Senior Center. Celebrate rhythm in community as experienced instructors help you explore hand drumming techniques, rhythms from West Africa and beyond, games, and exercises in a fun and supportive environment. No experience necessary; loaner drums provided. Maximum of 15 participants. Sign up by calling the Senior Center at 781-396-6010.
