Chess in Medford Square
The Medford Chess Club invites you to its weekly meet-up in Medford Square, taking place in the second-floor gallery area at the library. The club has chess sets, chess clocks, and helpful members to teach you the rules if you're new to the game. The Great American Beer Hall will mark Earth Day with a vibrant fundraising celebration designed to honor the planet and bring the community together through music, art and sustainable living. The day will cater to a diverse audience while emphasizing eco-consciousness, creativity, and raising money for The Clean Water Fund. Headlining artists will be Ashes To Amber, MELT, Lyndsay Simon and ANATTA.

APOLLO presents ASCEND, the first installation of a spring series at Arts Collaborative Medford. For this event, local artists will spin techno on the floor. The night also will feature local art vendors @atira.hope, @ring.around.your.finger, @sammy_lynnxoxo and more for art, trinkets, jewelry, and hemp slushies. The Medford Recreation Department invites you to bring the family and your creativity to LoConte Rink for Paint the Ice! Families will receive a box of paint to paint the ice with any artwork desired. Be sure to take pictures of your artwork. At the end of the event, the Zamboni will be remove the paint. The City of Medford invites you to its third annual Arabic Heritage Festival at the Brooks Elementary School. Join in celebrating Arabic culture and discovering the beauty of the oud instrument and makam basics with the HAWA Collective Band. The program also will feature Arabic food, dance, history, and henna art. Free admission. Register through the online event form. The International Brotherhood of Magicians, Ring 122, invites the community to Magic in Medford, a free night of magic at the library. Seven members of the Boston chapter of the IBM will perform tricks and illusions and share how you can become a member of Ring 122 and learn magic. The Medford Public Library invites kids to drop in for its weekly Reading Buddies program. Come practice your reading skills by reading aloud to teen volunteers. Reading Buddies will be available for 30-minute increments and happy to listen to you read whatever book(s) you'd like.
